Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Statement

Our Commitment

Persefone Coaching is committed to promoting equality, valuing diversity, and fostering inclusion in all aspects of its coaching practice.

We recognise that people come from different backgrounds, experiences, identities, and perspectives. We believe that effective coaching requires respect, fairness, and an environment where individuals feel safe to think, reflect, and challenge themselves without fear of discrimination or exclusion.

This statement reflects our commitment to our Professional Code of Conduct and guides how we work with clients, learners, and the wider community.

Equality

We are committed to treating all individuals fairly and with respect.

We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender identity or expression, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, or any other protected or personal characteristic.

Access to coaching services is based on professional suitability and availability, not personal identity.

Diversity

We value diversity as a strength.

Different perspectives, communication styles, cultural backgrounds, and lived experiences enrich the coaching process and support deeper learning and self-awareness. We aim to work in ways that recognise and respect difference, rather than assuming a single norm or approach.

Our work is shaped by international and cross-cultural experience, and we remain attentive to how language, power, and cultural context affect communication and behaviour.

Inclusion

We are committed to creating an inclusive coaching environment.

This means:

  • listening without judgement

  • using respectful and inclusive language

  • adapting communication approaches where appropriate

  • being aware of power dynamics within the coaching relationship

  • encouraging clients to bring their full selves into the work

We aim to ensure that clients feel heard, respected, and supported, while maintaining clear professional boundaries and expectations.

Professional Practice

In practice, this commitment means that we:

  • reflect on our own assumptions and biases

  • engage in ongoing professional development related to equality, diversity, and inclusion

  • challenge discriminatory or harmful behaviour where it arises within the boundaries of professional coaching

  • uphold confidentiality, dignity, and respect at all times

We also recognise that inclusion does not mean avoiding challenge. Coaching may involve difficult conversations, honest reflection, and accountability, always handled with care and respect.

Scope and Limitations

While we strive to make our services accessible and inclusive, we also recognise the limits of our role as a coaching practice. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy, legal advice, or specialist support services.

Where appropriate, we may suggest that a client seek additional or alternative support outside the coaching relationship.

Accountability

This EDI Statement applies to all coaching services, programmes, and learning materials provided by Persefone Coaching.

Concerns or questions relating to equality, diversity, or inclusion within our practice can be raised by contacting us at persefonecoaching@gmail.com. Any concerns will be taken seriously and addressed in line with our professional and ethical obligations.
